A Hologram for the King (2016) Tom Hanks does not need to be specifically explained what kind of film class to make. First of all, the director of this movie, Tom Tykwer, wrote Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006); As the creator of popular films such as Run Lola Run (1998), there is no doubt about his abilities.
But the presentation of music composer Tom Tykwer is hard to capture. For example, even if I’m a real fan of Tom Hanks, I find it hard to feel like a movie like Cloud Atlas, which he made with Tom Hanks. I do not know what that means. It would be beyond my comprehension. I’m really looking forward to seeing Tom Hanks under the intriguing title A Hologram for the King, but I’m terrified of Tom Tykwer.
In fact, it gives the story a misleading impression. It is a high-class drama film that shows a scholar from a different perspective on life, family, health, business, etc. The story is based on the story of an American businessman who goes to do business in a country like Saudi Arabia where religious rules are very complicated.
That said, these topics are rarely seen in movies. It is not a hate-mongering film (hehe).
I’m afraid I’ll think differently if I keep referring.
